The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released the 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The final rule, released last week, outlines a 2 percent reduction to dermatology services overall. In accordance with budget neutrality regulations, the decrease offsets minor increases for chronic care management services, malpractice adjustment, for internal medicine and primary care physicians. As with any change to reimbursement, the impact of the 2015 fee schedule varies according to individual practice patterns and service offerings.
